This past week I had the opportunity to work with online radio/media personality and music blogger located in Brooklyn, New York. Andrew Egan-Thorpe, better known as Anddy Radio, host of The Anddy Radio Affect is a vibrant, offbeat, fun loving guy who was an absolute pleasure to photograph!
Born and raised 70 miles outside of New York City in the quaint college town New Paltz, New York, Anddy grew up loving music. After his high school years, he decided to move to Boston where he graduated from The New England Institute of Art, receiving a degree in Broadcast Radio. Shortly after completing school, Anddy moved to Brooklyn and started his music blog, AnddyRadio.com, and eventually the popular underground radio series "AnddyRadio Presents..." which landed him the coveted Friday night slot on QNation.FM with "The AnddyRadio Affect". Since then Anddy has been searching for his next big break, while enjoying life in NYC.
The location for Anddys shoot is his Brooklyn apartment bedroom as this is where he performs his podcast from and has created a wall that expresses the spirited persona of The Anddy Radio Affect.
The moment I saw this wall I thought “oh how epic!” I’ve always loved photo wall/collages and his is truly the most impressive and dynamic I’ve seen yet. I loved finding photos of Anddy hidden throughout his wall.
Anddys animated personality made for a great shoot with lots of great candid’s. I love these two because to me it shows Anddy genuinely enjoying his work, he is clearly within his element here.
The light was just perfect for this shoot, we had two big windows to work with, both letting in full afternoon sun. I just love the depth it gave these next couple of shots.
And last but not least, my favorite photos from The Anddy Radio Affect shoot. These shots are ones that impressed me once they unveiled themselves to me during processing.
