Spooky Gooey Halloween Cookies
The secret to getting your cookies extra spooky is dutch processed cocoa powder giving your cookies a noticeably darker hue. Pair that with eyeball candies and these Spooky Gooey Chocolate Cookies are a sure crowd pleaser this Halloween. Super fudgy, intensely chocolatey, extremely easy to make. Just 10 ingredients and 10 minutes! Makes about 24 cookies.
Ingredients
1 cup softened butter
1 cup granulated white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 large egg
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup dutch-processed cocoa
2 & 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips (optional)
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 eyeball candies
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F
Stir butter and the sugars just until combined. Add eggs, vanilla, and cocoa and mix just until combined. Add flour, baking powder, and salt. Don’t overmix at any step or your cookies will dry out. Fold in chocolate & white chocolate chips.
Chill dough about 1 hour. Scoop and roll 24 equal sized balls out of the dough and place on greased baking sheets with enough space in-between. Press them down to a thickness of a thumb. Place eyeball candies on top if desired. Bake for about 8-9 minutes. I baked mine exactly 8 minutes. Let cool for about 5 minutes until they get firm enough to move them. Then transfer the cookies to a cooling rack and let cool completely.
